Earlier this spring, Healthy Orange invited schools to participate in their ‘Chalk it Up
Campaign’ for National Public Health Week. More than 1,000 students and teachers joined
together to chalk public health messages outside of their school buildings. Students wrote
messages like ‘Eat a rainbow of fruits and vegetables,’ ‘Drink water instead of soda,’ and
‘Get outdoors and play.’ It was a fun-filled event with hundreds of brightly colored take
home messages!
Healthy Orange would like to get a head start on the 2013 campaign for National Public
Health Week and invite schools, worksites, residents and community organizations to
create a short video clip or PSA about what public health is or means to them. If you would
like to participate, please e-mail Danielle Moser at dmoser@orangecountygov.com or call
568-5285 for more details. Be creative and have fun!
